(CelebrityAccess) — Tom Parker, a singer who is best known for his tenure with the British boy band The Wanted, revealed that he has an inoperable brain tumor.
The 32-year-old singer revealed the diagnosis to his fans via social media, stating that he has a brain tumor and is undergoing treatment.
However, in an interview with Britain’s OK! Magazine, Parker, and his wife Kelsey conceded that the diagnosis was a “worst case scenario” and that he was suffering from stage four glioblastoma.
According to the National Institute of Health, even with optimal treatment, patients diagnosed with glioblastomas have a median survival of less than one year.
Parker was one of the founding members The Wanted, a boy-band project managed by Scooter Braun, when the group launched in 2009. They scored multiple hits, including “All Time Low” and “Heart Vacancy” before parting ways in 2014 to pursue independent projects.
