Choosing the best inspirational speaker for your event is crucial to its success.
That is why we put together this checklist for you so that you can review it whenever you need to hire a speaker for your events.
A Company Event Checklist for When You Need to Find an Inspirational Speaker
1. Know your event’s objectives
There are a few types of inspirational speakers that you can hire.
Some of them share compelling and thought-provoking life lessons which are based on the things they went through. This kind of speakers have a more serious approach to their speeches.
There are also inspirational speakers who like to share life lessons in a more relaxed way by adding comedy elements.
If your event has a more serious note, then you need to find someone who is going to stick to a more formal kind of speech.
A corporate event, for example, is not as strict, so you can book an inspirational speaker that blends in comedy as well.
2. Understand what your audience wants
Depending on the event’s topic, you will need to look for a speaker who is going to cover a subject within that area.
You need to do a bit of research, compile a list of speakers, and write down if they can satisfy your audience’s needs.
If you are not quite sure what your guests would want to hear or learn from an inspirational speaker, then you can go ahead and do a quick survey.
That way, you will book someone who is going to meet their criteria and expectations.
3. Look at videos with different speakers
In addition to reading about the speakers’ experience, it will also help to make the best decision if you watch videos of them at various events.
This is going to help you determine if they would be the right fit for your event, for your audience, and whether they can send the message you want.
4. Know your budget
When starting to plan for your event, you need to outline your budget for every little thing. You need to know right from the beginning how much you can afford to spend on entertainment. That way, you will know where to look and what are the best options for your budget.
This is also a huge time saver because you will not waste time considering speakers that are too expensive for you to book.

3 Powerful and Inspiring Stories from Three Different People
Inspirational speakers can uplift and impact the lives of their audience. They have a special way of sharing interesting stories from which anyone can learn something, no matter what background they have. Here are three powerful and inspiring stories which will make you look at life in a different light.
Kechi Okwuchi, Matt Manzari, and John O’Leary are the speakers who truly stand out and have the power to connect with an audience by sharing their life experiences.
Let’s discover their story.
Kechi Okwuchi
In December 2005, Kechi Okwuchi was headed home for the Christmas holidays from boarding school. Unfortunately, the plane she was on crashed. It was a miracle she was one of the two survivors because 107 people lost their lives that day, the majority of them being her classmates and friends.
She suffered third-degree burns over 65% of her body and had to undergo multiple surgeries since then.
Thanks to her family, friends, and faith, she managed to finish high school and go to a good university.
In 2015, Kechi graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas. This alone proved she was able to overcome her physical, mental and emotional challenges and achieve her goal.
Currently, she is working on getting her MBA in Economics at her alma mater.
Besides being involved in her studying, Kechi is also an incredibly talented singer. She was on America’s Got Talent season 12 and managed to become a top ten finalist on the show, which is one of her most significant accomplishments.
Kechi’s story can be a strong motivator and inspiration for anyone who’s looking for a boost.
Matt Manzari
At the age of 15, Matt Manzari already had a career as a wakeskater. He was sponsored by Nike and was traveling the world doing what he loved, but he also felt as if the ministry was calling him, so he decided to enroll to study theology.
Right before his final exam for the ministry, Matt entered a pro tour wakeskating contest to earn some extra money.
Due to a drought and because he was the first rider, he was pulled behind the boat into the shoreline at over 25 mph. Matt ended up cracking his skull in 16 places, had 13 screws and three plates put in his face, he broke his jaw, his tailbone, crushed his hand and a rebar went into his leg.
He made a slow, but full recovery which amazed even the doctors.
However, a year later, while he was trimming trees at a local church, Matt got electrocuted by a power line. He suffered fourth and fifth-degree burns which melted his skin off his chest, arms and even the muscle and bone.
Doctors said to his wife they did not think he was going to make it, but he did. His message to the world is that you cannot control the circumstances, but you can control your attitude towards them.
John O’Leary
When he was nine years old, John O’Leary suffered severe burns on 100% of his body and had to have his fingers amputated. He had to undergo dozens of surgeries and years of therapy to recover.
This journey has given him strength, and it fueled him to continue.
John is not only a survivor, but a beacon of hope as well and he wants to share this message and other inspiring stories with as many people as possible.
