LONDON (CelebrityAccess) — AEG Presents has announced plans for All Points East, a new 10-day music festival planned for London’s Victoria Park.
Presented by AEG’s festival veterans Goldenvoice, the festival will take place from May 25 to June 3, 2018, with The xx and The National as the first headliners announced for the bill.
The festival will be broken out into two parts, a 3-day weekend music festival starting on May 25th, followed by a series of three stand-alone headliner concerts the following weekend. Between those two weekends, Goldenvoice will stage a “community-oriented” event with a mixture of free and ticketed events, including comedy, food, outdoor cinema and more.
Other announced artists include Popcaan, Lykke Li, War On Drugs, Warpaint, Future Islands, and The District.
According to Music Week, AEG has landed a four-year contract for the Park, with a possible extension of 12 months. The exclusive nature of the agreement spells trouble for other festivals which have used the park for a venue, such as Field Day, Lovebox and Citadel, which will all have to relocate or go dark in 2018.
“We are thrilled to be able to launch this new festival concept and bring some of the world’s most exciting artists to Victoria Park. With a new three day music festival followed by a programme of midweek events offering open access to the local community all culminating in three huge standalone shows, we’re confident that this is the most exciting new event in the country,” said Executive Vice President, Live Music at AEG Presents, Jim King.
