(CelebrityAccess) — Rock band Aerosmith has canceled the remaining dates on their tour of South America while the band’s frontman Steven Tyler seeks immediate medical care.
A statement, posted on Tyler’s Twitter account, said that he flew back to the United States following a show in Sao Paulo.
“I’m very sorry and feel like I’ve let you down,” the 69-year-old Tyler. “I won’t be able to continue the last four shows of this tour.”

He did not disclose the nature of his affliction but said that it was not dire and a statement from the band said they expected Tyler to make a full recovery.
“I am not in a life-threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away and get some rest and medical care immediately in order to sustain and maintain my future performances,” he wrote. “I love you all and will be back with you soon.”
In 2006, Tyler revealed that he had battled hepatitis C for eleven years and had undergone intensive treatment for the disease. In 2006, he also underwent surgery to repair a ruptured blood vessel in his throat, which induced the band to cancel their tour at the time.
