BOSTON (CelebrityAccess) — Ticketing service True Tickets announced that it has successfully conducted its first trial of its rules-based ticket resale capabilities.
The feature, when implemented, will allow True Ticket’s partners to control and monetize the resale of tickets by their patrons and facilitate the transfer of tickets on the secondary market.
According to True Tickets, the new feature was trialed with real event tickets at the Tessitura Learning and Community Conference, one of the company’s clients.
The resale functionality is based on True Tickets rules engine which allows partners to set specific rules for the transfer and resale of tickets, various levels, including event, ticket type, and specific patron, ensuring tickets are delivered with the appropriate permissions and options.
The technology will allow the non-profit sector to ensure that discounted tickets remain available to their intended audiences without being exploited by bad actors while providing access to secondary market revenue for the arts, True Tickets said.
True Tickets expects to role out the rules-based resale functionality by Q4 2024, the company said.
“This capability will be a win for both ticket issuers and patrons,” said Matt Zarracina, CEO of True Tickets. “By creating visibility into every step of the transaction and giving the ticket issuer control, we are setting a new standard for ethical ticket resale.”
