EUROPE (CelebrityAccess)—Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, in partnership with Globalsat, is set to revolutionize the EuroLeague with the introduction of the ASB GlassFloor, a cutting-edge full-LED video sports surface officially endorsed by the EuroLeague. This innovative flooring will debut at the OAKA Arena for the upcoming season in October, making Panathinaikos the first team to regularly host EuroLeague games on this state-of-the-art court.
As part of their efforts to make the OAKA Arena one of the premier venues in Europe, Panathinaikos BC AKTOR’s installation of the ASB GlassFloor marks a significant milestone in basketball history. Chief Operations Officer (CEO) Stavros Ntinos expressed pride and excitement for the project, emphasizing enhancing fan experience and strengthening commercial partnerships. Ntinos stated, “The addition of the new ASB GlassFloor allows us to achieve a decisive contribution in this direction.”
The ASB GlassFloor, featuring a unique glass surface embedded with millions of LEDs, promises to redefine the match-day experience. With the GlassCourt OS, Panathinaikos can showcase dynamic animations, real-time game statistics, and interactive displays directly on the court. This technology enhances the visual appeal and offers new opportunities for advertising and entertainment.
Embedded with ceramic points, the glass surface ensures optimal grip and reduces injury risk, enhancing player safety without compromising performance. The integrated LEDs enable stunning visual displays, while the real-time positional data can assist coaches in providing immediate feedback during training sessions, boosting player development and tactical execution.
Globalsat’s strategic partnership with Panathinaikos BC AKTOR has brought the ASB GlassFloor to Athens. Vasilis Papadopoulos, Founder and CEO of Globalsat, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the role of technology in transforming sports and entertainment. Papadopoulos mentioned, “This new glass floor will open up exciting opportunities for interactive experiences and dynamic presentations, setting a new standard for multi-functional sports venues.”

Christof Babinsky, CEO of ASB GlassFloor, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “We are pleased to collaborate with Panathinaikos BC to introduce the first permanent installation of our floor for EuroLeague games. This installation represents a significant milestone and sets the stage for our technology to make a lasting impact across various leagues.”
This collaboration between Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, ASB GlassFloor, and Globalsat marks a transformative era in basketball, setting new standards for how the sport is played, viewed, and experienced. With the potential to implement interactive training models, this project also aims to enhance the club’s competitive edge further.
